Job Description
For appointment to this grade, an Officer must have:
i.
Cumulative service period of six (6) years’ relevant
work experience, three (3) of which should be at the grade of Driver II, or in
a comparable position;
ii. Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) mean
grade D (plain) or its equivalent qualification from a recognised and
accredited institution;
iii.
A valid driving licence free from any current
endorsement(s) for class(es) of vehicle (s) an officer is required to drive;
iv.
Public Service Vehicle (PSV) certificate;
v. Certificate in Occupational Trade Test Grade I for drivers;
vi. Defensive driving certificate from Automobile Association (AA) of Kenya or its equivalent qualifications from a recognised and accredited institution;
vii.
A refresher course for drivers lasting not less than
one (1) week every three (3) years from a recognised and accredited
institution;
viii.
A valid Certificate of Good Conduct from the Kenya
Police;
ix. Attended a First Aid Certificate course lasting not less than one (1) week from a recognised and accredited institution; and Demonstrated merit and ability in driving and maintenance of vehicles.
