LABORATORY TECHNICIAN II (NUTRITION) - GRADE  FIVE (5)

Requirements for Appointment

To be appointed as Technician II (Nutrition) one must have the following;

      i.        Diploma in the relevant field from recognized institution.

    ii.        Four (4) years relevant experience.

   iii.        Demonstrable Information Communication Technology skills from a recognized institution.

   iv.        Demonstrated ability in handling laboratory services.

(a) Duties and Responsibilities

Reporting to the Chair of Department duties and responsibilities at this level will entail: -

a.      Collecting and preparing of teaching materials;

b.      Ensuring that the laboratory is kept clean and tidy always;

c.      Keeping and maintaining laboratory/workshop equipment in good order;

d.      Cleaning laboratory Workshop ware and keep them safe;

e.      Ensuring that the chemical/equipment stores are kept clean;

f.       Sterilization of contaminated cultures/media and ensure safe disposal;

g.      Ensuring laboratory benches are kept clean and sterilized; and

h.      Updating laboratory chemical/consumables and equipment inventory.
